History of Altos de Chavón

Where beauty meets history

The Villa de Altos de Chavón has been constructed in 1976. Charles Bludhorn, the presidente of Golf & Western Corporation had the idea to raise ths medieval village of the 16th century on the high bank of the Chavón river as a gift for his daughter's birthday. Mr. Bludhorn's idea has been turned into reality under supervision of Roberto Copa from Italy.

This village brings the visitor into medevial Europe, where he also enjoys spectacular views of the Chavón river and the Caribbean Sea.

Location of the rental apartment

The apartment is located just behind the open-air amphitheatre with 5 000 seats, inaugurated in 1982 with the participation of Frank Sinatra and Carlos Santana. Many other celebrities and rock artists have passed thouth this impressionate scenery, including Eros Ramazotti, Daddy Yankee, Hearst, English Beat, America, Tania Maria, Scandal, Sergio Mendes, Juan Luis Guerra, Michael Camilo, Spiro Gyra, Duran Duran, etc.

Currently events take place throughout the year with participation of both national and international star artists.

Thie medevial village is a strong source of insspiration for the artists who live, study and work here.

Sorry, no last-minute reservations

Due to security concerns resulting from a large number of VIP's in the Casa de Campo area it not possible to make a reservation less then then 7 days before arrival. After a security screen you will be provided with an ID, which ist obligatory to carry when passing the main gate to the complex. With the advance notice you will be able to obtain an ID for your visitors, too.
